The same simulator, packaged as a desktop app. Useful in a hall with no wifi, on a school machine with a locked-down browser, or when you would rather not depend on someone else's network during a lesson.

Installing
What to expect the first time
macOS
The build is not notarised, so Gatekeeper will refuse it on first launch. Open System Settings → Privacy & Security and choose Open Anyway, or right-click the app and pick Open.
Windows
SmartScreen shows a blue warning because the installer is unsigned. Choose More info → Run anyway. The universal installer is much larger; take a per-architecture one unless it fails.
Linux
An AppImage needs the executable bit before it will run: chmod +x on the file, then launch it. The .deb and .rpm packages install normally through your package manager.
None of the builds are code-signed yet. If your institution blocks unsigned applications, the browser version needs no installation and is the same simulator.

The desktop build talks to the same backend as the web app, so versus rounds work identically. Solo practice needs no network at all — see the simulator for what it does offline.
